I have a Sony Sureshot (i think that is what it is called) and when I take pictures indoors with all the lamps on the pictures still come out looking reddish in color.

This can be cured by adjusting the "White Balance" on your camera. Look in your manual or wade through the menus in your camera for white balance or "WB". It is normally set on Auto. The auto setting sometimes needs to be manually overridden as the camera is unable to properly figure out the lighting conditions. Chose the icon that looks like a standard light bulb when your lighting is predominately incandescent lights. Be sure to set the white balance back to Auto or you will get odd color casts for other lighting conditions.

Incandescent lights will cause your image to have an orange cast. Fluorescent lamps will give a green cast. Shade or cloudy days will give a blue cast. Setting the white balance to the proper lighting condition will correct color cast.

I would presume that the lamp used in your indoor shoot is an incandescent or a yellow fluoroscent bulb, and you take your picture without flash.

Incandescent light or yellow fluoroscent light can cause this because of their color temperature is different from an ordinary white such as a regular fluoroscent light. To compensate, you can change your white balance in the camera (if any) - they usually come in preset and there should be a white balance setting for an incandescent light (with a lightbulb icon). It should reduce the problem significantly. Or just experiment with the white balance and see what comes out as the best.
