i bought a used 27" zenith hd tv,

i have the dvr/hd box and when i hook up the hd cables to it,it says hook it up to a valid hd format deal...1080i/680?

,a friend has an xbox360 and it worked fine, could it be the cable box ?

so i hooked it up with the s-vid and it looks real good, but am i missing some quality with s-vid or is it the same?

if my tv is 1080i and the box is 680 should it still work?
(i dont know what 1080i or 680 means,i dont know which my tv is either)

Something went on the fritz at my apartment and now I get too much voltage coming out of my power outlets. I have my audio/video system plugged into a Panamax MAX 1000+ line conditioner, and its overvoltage light stays on when I turn it on. The manual states that the voltage must be greater than 135V for that to happen. The amplifier won't turn on at all and the turning on the DVD player causes the line conditioner to repeatedly turn on and off. I notified the apartments maintenance, but I don't expect them to do anything because other things work, like the tv and lamp. I want to know if there is something I can buy to plug into an outlet and step down the voltage to about 120 AC.

I'm looking for a digitial camera and know next to nothing about photography. I basically want to take photos of friends and family and would like to have a zoom if that's possible in my price range of about $200. I'm assuming that the major brands Cannon, Minolta, Pentax are safe, but I see Sony and HP also have reasonably priced models on the market.

I need tips on what kinds of things I should be looking for so I don't get taken in by a salesman who is just looking for commission or who doesn't know much more than I do. Buying off the internet is not an option.

I have a vintage SLR Nikon 35mm Film camera. This camera was probably purchased back in the 70's. The only model info I find, is F2 7335387. There is a lens that says Micro-Nikkor-PC Auto 1:3.5 f=55mm 749677. The camera is in good condition and works well.

Can anyone tell me the value of this camera and lens if I sell it at auction?

Is a digital camera that runs on a lithium battery better than one that runs on regular/rechargable double A batteries?
I am not an owner of one yet, believe it or not and was doing some homework on digital cameras before I go buy one. Thanks for your help.

I also don't have a camera cell phone, so that also poses a problem. Not only that, but I don't have any close friends with camera cell phones or digital cameras, either. What are my options?

I heard that because the earphones are so close to the eardrums that it can damage the ears overtime. Would it do less damage if I just turned the volume lower, or would it make no difference?

I've found a trade site that lists hundreds of businesses around the world for single and wholesale products.

I'm going to order an ipod from one of them in China but just wanted to ask if anyone else has ordered from china? They said it will come with an apple gaurantee and the site looks credible but I just got an email from them saying they have changed their email address... could this be a sign that they are scammers 'running away' from their old email addess?

Could you tell me your experiences or recommend a site that you have used before? Thanks

I live in the San Antonio, TX area and travel to Austin, TX frequently. I currently have T-Mobile and the service is perfect but I've been going over my whenever minutes lately. I know Cricket does cover San Antonio and Austin. I most likely will keep my T-Mobile plan but should I also add Cricket? Any advice is appreciated.

I'm moving. I have had my same phone number for over 40 years. In between moving from my old home to my new, I will be staying at a friend's for about 2-3 months. I really want to have my same phone number at my new place, but I don't think it will be possible because of the disconnect time(but may be?). Is there any possibility that I can make my old home number my cell phone number for the time being (so everyone can still contact me) and then after I move into my new place, make my cell phone number (and my old home number=same) my new home number? Sounds confusing but will it work?!

I'm a newbie in photography. I'm thinking about buying my first DSLR - a Nikon D40. On the web site that I visit there are 2 options, one comes with a 28-200mm / f3.5-6.3 lens, and the other one with a standard 18-55mm lens. What are the difference between the two?

I'm interested in taking picture with a deep depth-of-field (i.e. shape subject with blurry background) and also some scenary pictures too... would the 28-200mm works better?

So Im shopping for cable or Satellite but I don't know which route to go. I like the fact the you dont have to sign a contract to get cable but theh again Satellite offers better programing. As far as price well, they all give you one price but when you get your actual bill, they jack up the price with all kinds of hidden fees. Help! I want my cable but I dont want to get screwed!!

When I call my friends cell phone it says "the PCS telephone number you are currently trying to reach is temperaroly out of service, message 146-3" Does this mean he canceled his service, or he just put it on hold. He is supposedly going to Egypt for vacation, but he told me he's going Aug. 5th

i have tried burning several cds over the last few months.
each cd ends up incomplete with an error message popping up that there is a problem and can not complete the burn/or disk error.
is it possible that the whole pack of blank cds i have are all bad?
when i try to play what's on the cd it plays a few songs then freezes up my cd player. say if i have 20 songs on the cd 16 play fine then #17 freezes it up.
i have tried burning thru jukebox, itues, and a few other programs.

I am looking for a present for a friend and am thinking about buying an amp from a Hong Kong seller. This is the link to the site:

http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&ih=020&sspagename=STRK%3AMEWA%3AIT&viewitem=&item=300134160622&rd=1&rd=1

Does anyone know whether they are any or had any experience buying from overseas sellers?
