just bought a bravia v series and i cannot tune the video into the digital chanels the analog ones are explained and work fine but unable to tape anything off the in-built freeview any ideas?

97% of built in freeviews will NOT let you record this source of info. The manufactors are wanting you to get " twin tuners ". which will allow you to watch one freeview whilst recording another.

You need to go into the AV menu and set the features / AV2 output to digital TV. And of course connect your VCR to AV2 with a SCART lead.

Ive asked exactly the same question, because i can't do mine either, perhaps try Sony helpline, number should be on manual or website. Sorry i can't advise you.
