I just got a Playstation 3 and I know that with the PS2 you did not need a remote to play DVDs but I want to know if you need a remote to play blue-ray movies?

You don't need the remote, but I like using the remote because I can eject discs without having to press the eject button on my PS3. It's not needed, but I would get it just to complement your system.

no you definitely dont need the blu ray.... unless your a retard... remember that the x button is for pause and start is pretty simple and the circle button is for stopping (same as for games etc)... dont waste money on the blu ray remote

You can use your SIXAXIS to play DVDs, but using a remote might be better.
