I live in the San Antonio, TX area and travel to Austin, TX frequently. I currently have T-Mobile and the service is perfect but I've been going over my whenever minutes lately. I know Cricket does cover San Antonio and Austin. I most likely will keep my T-Mobile plan but should I also add Cricket? Any advice is appreciated.

The cell phone will work, plus you will never have to worry about going over your minutes. This is due to the fact that everything, and I mean everything, local, long distance, text, pics, and IM are all unlimited. The best thing to do is go to www.mycricket.com and pull up the map for your area. Just remember that they are always updating towers in the area. From what I have seen is that it works all the way up the 35 corridor up to Waco. I do have both Cricket, and AT&T, my AT&T phone gets a lot less use, and now my bill is a lot less. When my contract is over all my phones are being switched over to Cricket

I only know I didn't like it when I had it here in Phoenix. It's service area was too short and it dropped. That was in 03.

I have a backup cell, tracfone. Buy the time you need and no monthly. I use both when I travel and the tracfone has more service area than my regular cell.
