I have a tv (with the rca input/outputs on it), dvd player and a home theater system. My cable doesnt go thru a box it goes straight from the wall to the tv. I know how to hook up the dvd player so video goes thru tv and sound thru dvd player. When i try to watch basic cable no channels play surround sound. What am i doing wrong???

im planning to buy a camera. i was thinking a sony T100R or the sony T20P. T20 is cheaper by 70 dollars. i like both of them. i was thinking that i should buy the T100 since its the latest and has 3" LCD screen and im not planning to buy again anytime soon. but i also like the T20 cause its pink and it has a matching case and with the same price as the t100, i can buy a memory stick for it already. so, is there really a big difference bet the two? which one's more practical? thanks.

and Ive also bought and fitted a diversity aerial to the car, still rubbish...Anyone got any sensible ideas regarding where and what to buy so I can watch the tv in my car when stationary...I know I cant watch it while moving..The tv works really well when used with my home aerial so its not the tv

The Canon 850 with wide angle lens is reviewed as being so so picture quality wise. The 750 is far from perfect in operation. The finepix F40 is superb indoors, but metering/ graining an issue outdoors. The Panasonic TZ3 loses significant detail owing to over agressive noise supression. The Ricoh Caplio6 has bad fringing etc etc. Agreed! I have seen the shots.
Is it unrealistic for an old film camera enthusiast who favours a 20 year old Minolta to expect much in the way of a few good stills from a digital compact running on auto? Are they all merely ' happy snappys' bristling with electronic features? Face recognition for goodness sake. Time to add movies when they outperform a Hasselblad as far as I am concerned! Meanwhile the pixel count continues to rise which is arguably counter productive quality wise. Are there any professionals out there who can advise please?
