How do i convert MPEG files to MP3 files?

I'm testing out how i can put custom songs on my guitar hero game, but the songs need to be in MP3 format, and now they are in MPEG format. If anyone knows any easy ways of converting i will greatly appreciate it

Download audacity. It has audio file conversion capabilities & it's free.

MP3 is a type of MPEG file. MP3 stands for MPEG Layer 3. You need to know exactly what type of MPEG format they are. I suggest finding a conversion program online. Maybe Yahoo! Jukebox.
