and Ive also bought and fitted a diversity aerial to the car, still rubbish...Anyone got any sensible ideas regarding where and what to buy so I can watch the tv in my car when stationary...I know I cant watch it while moving..The tv works really well when used with my home aerial so its not the tv

You really do need a good rooftop aerial to stand any chance of getting digital TV unless you can see the transmitter. I mean rooftop as on a house. There is virtually no chance of getting it in a car. With analogue TV as the signal weakens the picture gradually gets snowier until no longer watchable. With digital there is a sudden point at which the signal is too weak to be usable. This is called the edge of the cliff effect. Even with a good outdoor aerial you may not get all Freeview channels because until the analogue is switched off, some freeview channel groups are being transmitted out- of -band and need a wideband aerial to receive them. Also digital is not on full power yet until analogue is switched off. Here is a link to help you.

-I would just add a computer to that is not garbage,.yet be cautious, because the accident rates on vehicles with t.v'''s or like devices is extremely high..

cant you buy a booster ? mine ws crap as well but i fitted a 25db booster to it................... but still didnt work :) might be my area tho.
