My mp3 player just died and best buy gave me a creative vision m in replacement under my warranty. Which was kind of them- but I hate the Creative vision M. It's hard to operate and it won't let me organize my music by filename, but rather only by metatag.
My only other option is an ipod, because that's the only other one they carry that's similar in price to my old player and therefore eligible under my warranty, etc. But I've never used one and in fact I've always avoided them. As such I've got a couple of questions:
DO ipods read filenames, or just metatags?
Also do you HAVE to use itunes, or can I use some other software? Also do you NEED software? My old player just showed up as a new drive when I plugged it in- I don't suppose that will be the case with ipod?
Many thanks in advance for any info anyone can provide. I'm really not sure which way to go with this thing, so I thought I'd try to get a little more info.
Man I miss my old player... :(
