that's how they attract new customers, it probably is an introductary rate (meaning only applies to the first 2-12? months). Check the regular rate they advertise in your area and if there's a difference with what you are paying just call them to lower the rate. I'm sure they will, because they don't want to loose a customer.

Check the speed. The $17.99 is only 760Kbps down and 128kbps upstream. The $37.99 product is 1.5Mbps down and 360 kbps upstream I believe. If you have already completed your 12 month committment, you can call them and signup for another 12 months and get the same for a lower price point.

totally correct like he said. though they knab you on a contract so if you breach it youll pay a fee, though in ome cases its cheaper to breach depending on your situatino and probs with a company.
