I don't know if you care about this, but Verizon just settled a huge pregnancy discrimination lawsuit. If I were searching for a phone company,I would never support a company that discriminates in such a large way.

Verizon InPulse is very expensive. $.99/day even if you don't use the phone, then $.10 per minute. Virgin Mobile's Minute2Minute plan is $.25/min for the first 10 minutes you talk, and then $.10/min after that. Soon it will be a flat rate of $.18 on that plan though. It depends if Virgin covers your area though, because as an above poster said, it runs on Sprint and their coverage is more limited.

Virgin Mobile has limited coverage. So while your phone would work where you will be using it, you may not be able to use it when you leave that area. If you choose Verizon you may have to choose another phone plan that will allow you coverage. Personally, I like Verizon and have never had a problem. But, ultimately, you are going to have to find something will be in your budget range, as well as provide coverage in the needed areas.

i would say neither. not sure if verizonwireless offers EASYPAY in LA, but we sell it in illinois. this is so much better than inPulse. with easypay you get a set amount of minutes and unlimited nights and weekends plus mobile to mobile, and you pay a set amount every month, either 50 for 350 min's or 70 for 700. (based from illinois's plans) look at their website...

They use the same network. Virgin is a virtual company, in that they lease service off the verizon network. No matter what you will have crappy CDMA (old technology) service. I would recommend either t-mobile or cingular.
