I had a similar issue last week. The call was from a cell phone number. To reverse lookup the phone number, someone here suggested I try the site www.cellulartrace.com
Don't waste your time like I did looking for a free service, as there are none for cell number tracing. It did cost me a few bucks but they sent me the name and billing address from the cellular account the next day. Because of who is was harassing me, I am VERY glad I decied to order the reverse lookup.

This question is a little unclear as to the nature but I will try my best. If what you're trying to do is get the name of the person to show up on your phone whenever they call, then save their name and number in your contacts (phone book) on your phone. If you're trying to figure out who called you because you do not recognize the phone number, try running it through a website like a few mentioned by other answerers. If it's a cell phone, it may not be registered with such a website, in which case you'll just have to call the number back and ask them themselves.

type reverse telephone lookup into the internet and there are many sites that let you type the phone number in and they will give you the name. cell #'s are harder to get names on though but at the very least you'll find out the city where the call came from. The sites are free unless you really want a name and nothing comes up on the free search
