OK, i have a top of the line Laptop, the Dell XPS m1710, with Core 2 Duo 2.0 Ghz processor and 2Gb RAM. Every time i try to print something in Word 2007, or open Photoshop, the program crashes. I have Vista Ultimate.

My new Toshiba Satellite A135-S4499 is a great computer and has more than enough power and capability for music audio recording, and is running Windows Vista Ultimate, but the Cakewalk and Cubase programs won't fully function. Me and the music store people we tried everything we can think of, to no avail. I can't get a meter level in the audio portion of the program, even though my Prosonus Firestudio converter is operational and functioning perfectly with the Vista architecture. Cakewalk will not let me assign an audio input, and Cubase just crashes the computer, and I had to uninstall it. Just before the crash, the Cubase was actually working but had about a 500 ms. output delay when the midi voices played from the keyboard were heard thru the computer's speakers.
The companies websites offer little help.
Is there ANYBODY that has experience with this?
Emails welcome, if you know what to do for this problem.

Been using Outlook 2003 for nearly a year now, and i've got over 15,000 archived emails.

Today, when i start Outlook, it initializes, but after about 5 seconds, i get this error message: "Cannot start Microsoft Office Outlook. Unable to open the outlook window. The set of folders could not be opened. The server is not available. Contact your administrator if this condition persists." When i click on the OK button, the program closes.

My internet connection is OK, and i am able to use IncrediMail, Outlook Express, and Mozilla Thunderbird. I have a DSL connection, home network. I am using a laptop computer with Microsoft XP Home. My Mcafee security center is running and up-to-date.

I tried windows system restore, but that didnt help.

I searched and found two .pst files in my Application Data\Microsoft\Outlook folder, and these are: Archive.pst (265kb) and Outlook.pst (3kb).

I badly need to HAVE my archived emails back. Will an Outlook reinstall delete my archived mails?

I recently found out about Linux, and I'm very interested in exploring it. I only have one major problem holding me back, and that is I'm one of those people who were slaves to windows, which makes it difficult to immediately transfer.
So then researched an found these demonstration videos about using Linux "Ubuntu+Beryl", and one side of the cube actually had a working XP desktop.
**** Vista :)
I was astounded and was more eager to try this alternative. When I researched, I found so many ways to have both OS's on one computer simultaneously with XP on one Cube face, booted separately at startup, switchable during sessions, etc...etc.. which only constituted towards more confusion.
I'm a typical windows user, and all i have is the Ubuntu bootable CD ready. Then I found out about this partitions thing, which only made things even worse. I already went though a laptop, now it has only Linux, but always freezes at startup. Since i dont know the tech, i cant erase the hard drive clean.

working wit headers and page numbering in a document with multiple sections - I am following the instructions in the 'help' index and use to have no problem in word 2003 - but it isn't working for me in word 2007. I want to be able to change the headers and page numbering as I go along in a multiple page document. I know I need to create section breaks and click the 'link to previous' button to break the link headers, but that isn't working. Anyone know what I could be doing wrong - maybe it's just the order I am doing things in, maybe it's just the type of section break I am using (page and section break)- I was on the phone with Microsoft help 'helping them' to create a sample document for an hour before I hung up. I have spent many, many hours trying to figure this out.

I have some songs that are 128 kbit which is normal when i hear it on my laptop but when i put it on my phone and then plug it in the car it sounds so boring! Is thre any software that converts 128 kbit to something at least 400 kbit? Is there any site that has downloads 400 kbit?
