mpeg 4 or mp4. Is there a program that can do this. I've tried lots and they don't convert to mp4 or mpeg 4. Those are the only formats I can convert them to do work on my pocketdish. So is there one that's free (and not just free to try but actually free)??

I'm using the free ad-aware se personal right now and just notice that ad-aware 2007 free is out. Should I switch to the new version or wait? I have to assume that it has been out for several months. I have read that several people don't like the new version and some do like it. I haven't decided yet if I'm going to switch but yet, I don't want to get the new version if ad-aware is still working out the bugs.

What is the cheapest way to get a legal copy of Windows XP Professional?

I recently purchased a used Pentium 4 system for $100. It had everything I need, except a copy of Windows.

What are my options? I really don't want to spend more for the OS than I did for the computer.

Hi, I had nero on my other pc which I dont have anymore, and I got a pc made for me and got a nero disc with the DVD rewriter, I have downloaded some dvds, which usuallu work when putting them onto a dvd with nero, but on this one it says there is not enough room on the disc I am using to put the film on. the thing is there is plenty of room and they are the disc I have always used. It tells me to turn things off like the slide show things and back ground pictures, but I cant find anywhere to do this in nero.

Its strange as it used to work with the other one. Is it because its liike a trial or something, It dosnt tell me anything.
Any help you can give me will be great thanks

I want to be able to read pdf files, but I don't really trust adobe as of late. Is there an older version of adobe without all the strange encryptions and general weirdness--or better yet an alternative that can read pdfs?

I have a packard bell and just carrie out a system restore where it stores my laptop back to when i first got it. I chose the optioon for partial system restore so i dont lose any of my files. I can now longer find my files, maybe they have been deleted, but there prob is a way i can retrieve them again. Just think how the police can retrieve details from any pc, does anyone know how i can do this?

If i enter any CD even a brand new out of the case CD my computer doesnt install or read it. Even when i go to "Set program Access and Defaults" and click on add programs. It searches for a disc and doesnt find it? Any ideas?

I have used Linux since 1995 when Slackware was much smaller and was only on floppy disk or tape image (yes it was installable by tape drive!). I have known some people that use it besides me, but not any, personally, that use it as their regular home OS. Am I alone here?
Microsoft has its pros and cons, but I've had less problems with Linux overall. Less crashes (YES less, Linux does have the occasional oops or panic or report that the printer is on fire, just no where near as often as Windows), NO viruses, NO browser hijacks. Just looking around online with Windows can be harmful to your computer.

Thus my preference of Linux.

My bf just bought an alien something gaming computer on eBay and it comes with everything but an operating system. I'm not computer savvy and need to know if we still need to get windows for the thing to run properly.

I have DVDs from Region 1 and Region 4 - all purchased legally! Why is it that Windows only "allows" me to change regions 4 times before it is fixed on one region? Why shouldn't I be allowed to view my legal property (the DVDs) with my legal property (my legal copy of Windows)?

I am trying to import footage I backed up from a camcorder using WinTV. When I go to import a piece of video (MPEG), it takes about a minute then says it has encountered an error and shuts down. I have tried disabling codecs and re-enabling them again. Any ideas?

I have a mac book with 2 gb ram. I want to use boot camp to run both window and mac but I don't know whether to install window vista or xp because in school, some file is only window only. Window vista is good because in the future most file is vista based not xp but I fear vista will blue screen and cause problem to my mac. I heard vista has alot of problem. Xp might be good because it does not crash as much but in the future, most file will be vista only. Please help me and tell which is better. If you say xp tell me the model (professional, home, etc.) If vista tell me model (basic, home, ultimate,etc) Please help. Thanks! Also tell me why I should get that specific window software. (Like xp, vista)

when i try to uninstall, 'could not open INSTALL.LOG file' comes up. someone told me that you reinstall the program and it fixes it and i did that for some of the others that were doing it and it worked. but i downloaded this program off the internet and cannot find a place to redownload it. what's another way i can fix this problem?

And not the beta. I try opening it and it tells me that "license for this product expired"
I checked the Adobe site and it says that this problem may be the cause of having the beta/test version.

Saving pics on my computer,i can no longer down load pics from the net on my comp, not sense i downloaded AOL,when i down load pics now they turn up on my desktop as icons under my pictures i contacted Aol and they told me go to settings,click personel storage settings,reduce max disc space of on line art,, click save so i did, then i was to reverse this process and bring the max space setting to no more than 60 megs, click save and reboot like i was told to do on both processes, also i was told to set to no compression which i also did, that was the first time, the second time they couldnt figure it out so they said to click the aol icon at bottom of screen and do an AOLquick restore this dont work either, a freind told me that it was probbaly my (ie)internet explorer. so i went to yahoo to down load there (ie7) but on dial up AOLshuts down on me before the download is complete,,and i had not had this problem untill i took aolAS MY (ISP) CAN ANYONE HELP ME OUT ON THIS THANKS A LOT
