Computers automatically restart if they encounter what it thinks is a major problem, I will give you instructions for Windows XP, 2000 and ME should be similar, Vista maybe similar..I don't know, I don't know what operating system you have.

Click Start, Click Control Panel (Click Performancce and Maintenence, if it isn't there skip this stage), Click System, Click the Advanced Tab, Click Settings under Setup and Recovery, Now Untick the box that says Automatically Restart, Now Click OK, Then Click Apply(if you can), then click OK, You can close the Control Panel and continue as you did, see if your PC restarts now.

I had something like this to happen after I had installed a program I downloaded from the internet. It would judt boot to a certain point then shutdown and reboot again, over and over. I just did a system restore to a time before I installed that program. Problem solved. I hope it works for you. Rotsa ruck. Ben Hur

Maybe ur XP is service pack 1 , it's an old problem.install win XP service pack 2 or Download The patch from Microsoft site to fix ur problem.otherwise it's a virus and u can fix ur problem with an Antivirus.

I'd suggest that you run a virus and spyware scan, that way, if there's a malicious file on your computer, it can hopefully be removed.

man, that's weird. It never happens to me. but it sure looks like its a virus or something on your computer.
