compatible (price-wise) ? Is there something better? I have been checking around for a good software for my small home-based tax business.

Just finished my computer and bought a new OS (Vista Prem). Just got done with the BIOS, put the CD in and restarted the machine. I just entered the product key and it says, "To use the product key you entered, start the isntallation rom your existing verison of Windows".

Problem is, I do not have Windows XP. My laptop and other desktop came with "System Recovery" Windows XP discs, which I do not think works.

Is this trying to say I need to install XP first? That is kind of retarded...What do I do?

Thanks.

I have IE ver 6.029 SP2. Win XP SP2.
Only recently when I try to access a link that ends in a .PDF extension, IE locks up. It has not done this until recently. I do have Adobe, so thats not the problem. It only locks when I try to access a link and it is the ONLY time it locks up. I need this to work as I must access many business documents per day.
Please help.

I recently bought a brand new computer, Compaq, with Vista. It works really good except for one kink; CD's burned using my new CD burner (lightscribe kind) are not recognized by XP computers. I burned some files on a CD and tried to run the CD on 2 different pc's with XP and both said there was no disc in the drive. I have used both a lightscribe cd-r and a regular dvd-r... anybody have any ideas? For the record, the CD burner that came with my new pc says it will work on XP machines...

Over here when a car is no longer manufactured and supported it is legal to manufacture pirate parts. Microsoft no longer patches its mistakes on Microsoft Office 2000 or offers support. I assume they no longer sell it. Does this mean it can now be distributed freely?
