You can get a free trial from Microsoft, buy it, or get open office

2 things I would suggest:

1 Buy a Microsoft Office CD, which may cost 20-50 dollars. It has MS Word, Powerpoint, Excel, and Access, at least the most recent one.

2 Download Open Office at http://www.openoffice.org/
It's like a free version of Microsoft Office. They have a word processor, presentation maker, database, and some other stuff.

Word is part of the Microsoft Office suite. It doesn't come with the OS, and it never has (although some manufacturers sell computers with MS Works, which is a lightweight version). You have to purchase it. Word alone cost about $120.00 or so.

At openoffice, download the Windows version. You can also try AbiWord, another free word processor, which can be downloaded from http://www.abisource.com/
