I recently bought a brand new computer, Compaq, with Vista. It works really good except for one kink; CD's burned using my new CD burner (lightscribe kind) are not recognized by XP computers. I burned some files on a CD and tried to run the CD on 2 different pc's with XP and both said there was no disc in the drive. I have used both a lightscribe cd-r and a regular dvd-r... anybody have any ideas? For the record, the CD burner that came with my new pc says it will work on XP machines...

Yes, the burned CD's are recognized correctly on Vista, but not the 2 XP machines I've tried.

Maybe if I used a different burning program? The one I used was Vista's own program...

Do the disks work on the Vista computer?

Check the burning program for compatibility or encryption settings.

your version of nero would prefer R/W utility put in. some nero dont see R?W disks. examine on google your vista Cpersistent would have had it the place your win7 Cpersistent has not.
