i would like to know what is the best firewall software to use and if it is free what is the website to go and why you say it's a good firewall software thanks

I just use the plain old basic windows firewall and sometimes no firewall at all. I never had any huge problems, and for a while now I have been virus free. So as long as you run regular virus scans, you should be just fine.

I like zone alarm free. Why? It's basic. I dont configure crap. I click yes or no on programs I need to allow on the internet. It's as simple as cake. Besides, it's rock solid performance is great with it's simplicity .
I also like comodo firewall. But, I don't like how it uses a tad more ram then I'd like to give. So I'd just use zone alarm period.
You MUST have a firewall if your on a broadband connection. And Windows Firewall is the biggest piece of crap software ever designed for XP. How could they design only a outbound software? lol

Look for the Free icon at the bottom of the page. This firewall lets you see what's happening and let's you control much of the internet traffic as well as toggle internet lock on and off.

All you need to do is go to Windows Marketplace & go to security section & download (free) ' Windows Defender" which is a very good firewall. I have it set to get up-dates by itself (at whatever time is good for you.)
