I have IE ver 6.029 SP2. Win XP SP2.
Only recently when I try to access a link that ends in a .PDF extension, IE locks up. It has not done this until recently. I do have Adobe, so thats not the problem. It only locks when I try to access a link and it is the ONLY time it locks up. I need this to work as I must access many business documents per day.
Please help.

Im not interested in going to IE7, that has more bugs than an anthill and I'm not interested in using Firefox either. I just want it to work the way it did a few weeks ago. Thank you.

I have already uninstalled and re-installed BOTH programs, still does not work and yes, the links are valid.

Interesting. Are you sure that link is a valid PDF file link? Perhaps the link is bad for some reason. Good luck ;)

Try completely uninstalling adobe and reinstalling it. Possible IE too.

If you are reinstalling both I would install adobe before IE. So IE can see it when you install.

Edited to add:

Sorry I'm all out of ideas. Hope you figure it out!

Upgrade to IE 7 if your copy of windows is legitimate. The files may be large so it may seem to freeze. reinstall adobe to a newer version if problem persists.

update to internet explorer 7 and also uninstall adobe and reinstall it from their website, adobe stalls a lot for no apparent reason and gets currupted easily in my opinion.
