I keep getting an error message when I try to open the file saying Windows can not read it. The program worked succesfully for Cue files though does anyonre know what's wrong?

Help! I am thinking that my PC may now have to go to the computer graveyard. I had attempted to install a memory card reader for my PC. The computer complained because it said I needed Windows XP service pack 1 but I don't have this. My computer is pretty old, I inherited it from an old flatmate but I am a lowly newly qualified teacher and cannot afford to buy a new one!! Trouble is, as a result, I don't have the windows XP CD to load up again even. I forgot that I still hadnt restarted the computer and later on we had a powercut (hmmm... may have forgotten to top up the electricity meter!). Anyway on turning it back on a blue screen comes up and says I have to restart the computer in safe mode - but it also comes up when I do attempt to restart it in safe mode! The message comes up with the following code: Stop: 0x000000ED (0x80E9DDc0, 0xC0000032, 0x00000000, 0x00000000). Can anyone help me, or even suggest where I can get hold of a copy of Windows XP if i need to reinstall?

some of my movies are in peices and sometimes the peices are archive files and sometimes they're files i don't recognise. i have winrar to open the archive .rar files but I don't know how to assemble them into an uncut movie

I've formatted my labtop, and I backup my data (most of them not all!!). I figured out that I didn't backup my contacts (which are saved in My Microsoft Outlook). As a result it has been formatted. How to restore my contacts from my formatted Labtop??

I just bought this program and it says on the bottom of the box that it works with AVI files. My camera is AVI, and it's not working with the program. I bought this program from Best Buy, and they usually don't take things back, so I'm panicking. HELP!

I have TotalRecorder but since its the demo version, every 1 minute a very noticable sound comes into what Im recording. I have Focus Recorder, and that only records 2 minutes, and the pc recorder sucks... So where can I download an easy free recorder that will not insert any sounds into what Im recording?

I use Windows XP. After a few months of installation, its performance
decreases and it gets slower. What's the reason behind it. I regularly defragment the disks so they are not a problem. Also I monitor running applications and processes but dont find anything suspicious. Its not even the problem of installed program files.

i want to import songs from imesh to itunes for some songs it says ---- song is in WMA format itunes will automaticaly it into AAC so they can be added into itunes library " when i click convert it says " one or more songs being added in are in the protected WMA format , itunes could not convert the following song

Hello- this is going to sound amature.. But I have recorded stuff in garage band and I still cant get it to sound equal enough. Garage band is a sort of crappy program- so does anyone know of any software that I can get that I can equalize the tracks in garage band with? At least so that some are louder and others are quieter- since I've done all I have can with the volume of those tracks respectivly in garage band already... Any suggestions? ive heard of airEQ but im not sure about it.. ANY HELP is needed thanks!

I can find all files beginning with 'sh';

find /bin -follow -name '*sh' -print

and all files ending with 'sh';

find /bin -follow -name '*sh' -print

But I want to find all files that have 'sh' anywhere in the name of the file.

I have a few ebooks that do not allow me to use the print function so I am not able to back up my copies of these ebooks on adobe. I have no problem backing up ebooks that allow me to print it is the ones that don't allow me to even print it that is giving me trouble. Any suggestions?
