I'm getting a new PC nest week and have the option of vista or XP. I'm wondering if I should stick with XP as it seems very stable.
However, I'm probably going to have to move to Vista at soem stage, so maybe I should take the jump now.

A family members' PC was equipped with Windows 98 and had been recieving the RoadRunner Internet service from TimeWarner Ohio. She recieved word recently that it is no longer capable running w/98, she would need to upgrade to Vista. This sounds like BS. Suggestions?

Its starts to install but as soon as is about to, it says " A cabinet file necessary for installation cannot be trusted".

Know why its doing that?
Know how i could bypass that so it installs anyway?

I clicked the restore button in iTunes and it downloaded the updated software and started to restore it. The iPod got restored and is working, but iTunes crashed. Now when i try to open iTunes a message comes up that says, "The iTunes Library file is locked, on a locked disk, or you do not have write permission for this file." Then iTunes doesn't load. I downloaded and reinstalled iTunes and it still does that. What do I do now?

Whenever I'd pull up a spread sheet I've created, it would take it's own sweet time poppin' up. I'd tap it again and it would freeze. I'd give it time and it would finally go through the motions I needed it to go through.

When the program begins,it will start by initilizing, open up the space window, and begin to show the earth, and then it shuts down my computer requiring it to restart on its own. I am running windows xp

My computer was not working a while back. I couldn't do much. But I was able to access my files. I bought an external hard drive, and copied everything I needed to it.

I copied the program files folder which has all of the programs I need.
I re-installed windows. And now all I have is the files. I do not have the exe file that installes them. They do not work. I installed Vista. What can I do?
