Hello, allow me to ask, how large is your RAM? Do you continually do daily spyware-virus checks? Is your Microphone correctly inserted to the Mic jack?

Try doing these steps:

Add more Virtual Memory to your system, that is, if you're really low on RAM.

steps:

Do a systematic viral scan.

Go to Control Panel:
Click System
On the System applet, click on the Advanced Menu
Select Performance Settings. Once done, another applet, Performance Options will appear. Click the Advanced tab then finally, select Virtual Memory.

On the Virtual Memory Applet, set your minimum page file size (under customized button) to 512 MB and maximum to 1024 MB. Click Apply and OK buttons to execute the changes. It will then use your page files (from your hard drive) as RAM.

Do a driver roll back for your sound card. (for this, you'd have to google it)

Finally, do a last known good configurations for your system. Restart your System, Press F8 right before Windows XP splash screen comes up, then select Last Known Good Configuration from the booting option.

If you notice some grinding noise from your speaker, it could be that your sound card is grounded. Try considering getting a new sound card.

This should work, I guarantee that!

Sounds like you may have a virus run a virus scan on it.
