System restore uses configuration setting taken over a period of time. The Repair wizard uses the Software CD to repair damaged files. This how I see it. They do about the same thing, but, from a different approach.
Say you installed a program on 12-29-06. Later you install a program on 2-2-07. Then the first become corrupted. If, you do a system restore back to 12-29-06 you lose the second program. So, it may be best to use the repair wizard. If, you never loaded the second program then a system restore back to 12-29-06 be easier. This the best way I can explain.
Also, system restore could help if you get a virus or worm and can go back a day or two before this. Using repair wizard would leave the virus/worm intact.
You just have to think which way going to work the best, for what you need to do.

system restore should only be used by someone who knows what theyre doing as it takes the settings back to an earlier date and lotsof items can be lost stick with wizzard!!!!!!!!!!!
