Nothing. It's just a terrible operating system, which uses so much resources that the suitable computer won't be made within the next 5 years. I always remember the time of MS-DOS: the graphics were practically of the same speed, but they didn't take so much resources. Programmers got used to large amounts of RAM. I've read about some game (I'm afraid, I can't remember, what it is), and it was said in the articke that 1Gb of RAM is recommended for the game. But when the author of the article increased the size of his computer's RAM, he couldn't see any progress, though the previous attempt of running the game was made with 256Mb - the RAM was increased x4.

Do you mean why did people think it would be so good, because right now everyone is frustated with it. But the main new thing with it is the look of it which is a work of art.
