Why does Windows need to ask us if we are sure we want to move a read-only file? It's not like the file would become unreadable if we put it somewhere else...

I recently restored my PC to setting a few moths ago but rather foolishly forgot to burn pictures and music to cd’s before I did that and of course I’ve lost all the files. I’ve tried using search and recover software which has been useful in terms of recovering some files, i.e emails etc but sadly not the more precious stuff i.e pictures and music.

Can any one help, please.

Before sometimes, I had some photos on my PC which have been deleted accidentally.

I wish to get them again with the use of any software.

Do I need to have the software before the photos were deleted ?
OR
Is it still possible to get back those photos..??

Please suggest some good data recovery softwares.

When I unistall the acrobat reader the word documents can be read. When I install acrobat again the document can not be read unless i specify by right click on the file then say open with word. I want the word document to open when i double click on it.

Right now, I'm using AVS Video Tools to rip scenes from DVDs, but I'm still having trouble setting up a new audio track for the movies (in other words, I don't have a clue in hell how to do it). I'd like to use MP3s I have stored on my hard drive and can convert them easily to wav files if necessary. Any idea how I can get new audio tracks laid down?
