Why does Windows need to ask us if we are sure we want to move a read-only file? It's not like the file would become unreadable if we put it somewhere else...

The "read only" tag is really just a way of telling us that the file should not be deleted or modified.

If we "move" the file we are in fact modifying the file "properties" because the path (location) instructions pertaining to the particular file are being changed.

This is why we get that reminder message.
