I'm having a problem with Windows Movie Maker. I uploaded a video file into DV-AVI format onto the computer, then previewed the clip from the "Collections" menu. Problem is, when I put the clip in the timeline and play it from the timeline, there is either no sound, or the timeline doesn't play at all. Can anyone help?

mfc71.dll Not found. Re-installing the application might correct this problem (or something like that). A) I have no idea what I uninstalled that deleted it and B) I no longer have those softwares.

How can I fix this? I searched the string and came up with several places offering fixes, but I would like some input from you gurus on a reputable place to get this from. Thanks.

Is there any free audio mixer software that I could download. Strangely I can listen only to Window Media player but noting else, IE online movies and other media that is not through Windows media player.

my brother updated Windows Media Player, and all the songs that i downloaded about 3 weeks ago, are in a seperate folder and they cant be moved to my Now Playing list and i cant edit the names of them. is there ANY way i can change it back to the regular media player? please help

With this new computer I have, I seem to be running into some problems with the interface responding to commands.

First is the copy problem. When I copy stuff from Notepad or OpenOffice or whatever, it works fine. However, when I copy from FireFox, and most especially from the FireFox address bar, much of the time the clipboard stays the same as it was before; the command just doesn't seem to register properly. I don't understand this as it worked fine when using FireFox on another computer.

Second is a text problem. When I click in the middle of some text and start typing, sometimes it overstrikes the next letter or two before inserting letters properly (the computer is always on insert, I never use the overstrike command). Additionally, when I select some text and then start typing to replace the selection, often it will select up to the next line up; in Notepad this can be quite disastrous because it only has one level of undo.

So, does anyone have a way of solving these?

And I cannot open certain folders(associated with Limewire) in my external harddrive. When I try to open certain folders in my harddrive it give me and error and freezes kindof. And when I open up Add/Remove Programs it gives me and error saying "Run Dll as an App has encountered a problem and has to close. I think it all started after downloading something on Limewire but im not for sure. It just shut down and wouldn't open back up and then i noticed other files were jacked too. I dont know what the problem and i tried a virus scan using Mcafee and I tried Registry Mechanic and I still have a problem. Please help.

but I change something in the security tab of the Group Policy which has this path C:\WINDOWS\system32\GroupPolicy. (it's a hidden folder). I want to have control again but I don´t know what to do. As I said before I have an Administrator Account

I've been having some issues with spyware lately.
Most of spyware/Reversal programs question something called pau40.exe running on my system. Can anyone tell me what this program pau40.exe running is? I haven't ever found mention on any website.

i just deleted something by accident on "garageband", a program where you can record things. It was my favorite recording, and ii haven't shut down my computer since. Is there any way I can recover it?? (details: "cut" the recording, then clicked on the menu to open up "new" so i could paste the recording in there, upon hitting "new", it asked if i wanted to save or not, and i figured i have it copied right now, so i clicked "no". the old window where i had cut the recording from then CLOSED!!! and the new one was up. when i finally hit 'paste' it said 'error'. what to do, oh what to do!!!??)

I recently bought a DVD of a French movie (legal copy), that I couldn't find in the states. The problem is that it's in Zone2 and my DVD player is Zone1. So is there a program, preferably low cost or free, that I can use to reburn my DVD so that it will play on my TV instead of my computer?

A MySpace profile had a "patch" that looked ligit, and i downloaded it. I scaned the file using McAfee and the results came back clean. I began the extract the file then I had a Zlob trojan. It really messed my PC to the point the mouse cursor was lagging. I'm running a 3.0 GHTz CPU with 1.0 Gb RAM on a Compaq. I know that isn't normal. Do you think I should get a refund if I requested one? And what should I have on my side if they don't?

Please help!!!
