i just deleted something by accident on "garageband", a program where you can record things. It was my favorite recording, and ii haven't shut down my computer since. Is there any way I can recover it?? (details: "cut" the recording, then clicked on the menu to open up "new" so i could paste the recording in there, upon hitting "new", it asked if i wanted to save or not, and i figured i have it copied right now, so i clicked "no". the old window where i had cut the recording from then CLOSED!!! and the new one was up. when i finally hit 'paste' it said 'error'. what to do, oh what to do!!!??)

p.s. i can't go to my recycle bin to restore it, because i just "cut" the recording. After that, i clicked "no" when it asked me if i wanted to save the edited track.. which was a big mistake.
so how do i recover the recording??

download and run a small program called Restoration. It requires no installation. The two articles below detail its use

The original recording is there if you opened it to do an edit. The only thing you won't have is any edits or additions to the opened file.

That's why it's a good idea to save your work every few minutes or so in case power goes out, or something bad happens.

Just pull up the original file again, do your editting all over again, and save the editted version before you go to do the cut and paste...

the deleted program will not be in the "Recycle Bin". sometimes when a program is deleted the data files from that program are left. See if you can use the "Search" utility to find that recording on your hard drive.

check the "recycle bin" folder on your computer to see if it's there. That's just one suggestion, since I don't have that program and don't know anything else about it.

lol whenever you copy something big (as in other than text) it only saves a LINK to it, not the actual thing, oh and unless you at some point saved it to ur hard drive, I think ur screwed, but it may be possible i dont really know lol, good luck

If you check your recycle ben it SHOULD be in there. there are a few times where it doesnt go into the recycle ben, but most of the time it does.
