I want to run an old MP game locally, but both windows need to be active. I have reason to believe that under Windows XP, this sort of multitasking is virtually impossible. I would appreciate any help on this subject.

If you go to tucows.com they have a list of programs that will let you utilize two monitors without separating or dividing the hard-drive.

To my knowledge there is no way to keep focus on multiple windows in XP. It simply isn't designed to perform multitasking in that sense.

I have only seen games and programs that open multiple independent screens within a window.

Which frankly does suck if you ask me...

When you aren't using the computer set it aside m be in a quiet place. As cheesy as it sounds it helps. Also take little breaks between work. Do one half hour of work then take a break continue until you are done.
