If you want something thats as usable or almost as usable as windows, then I'd go with ubuntu to replace the OS, openoffice.org to replace your current office suite (openoffice can export to pdf, flash and is fully compatible with that other office suite and has some very good features that the other doesn't have, plus most of what it does doesn't), NVU or Mozilla composer would be OK as a replacement for your propietary html editor (you can get them both for windows if ya wanna try them first) also mozilla composer is shipped with the mozilla suite which includes email, browser, calendar, all of which are better than the equivalents bundled with that other OS, another mozilla project worth looking at for web design is seamonkey.
You will definately find better email software included in ubuntu.
You also have the added bonus that everything listed here is free, can be used on as many computers as you want, and freely redistributable by anyone, including yourself, you can even charge people for it, never have to worry about a virus again (thats right) OR spyware, and never again be concerned that you will get caught oout with that pirate copy of hacker joes photoshop disk (which can be relaced with GIMP-GNU Image Manipulation Program for free, and also runs on windows)
All software listed here can be run on windows, even ubuntu has a "live" cd so you can have a look at it withoout installing it.

For opensource you would be looking at a linux distribution. A list can be found at http://www.distrowatch.com.

The main office suite on linux is openoffice, also available on windows if you want to make sure it is suitable.

Don't know what would be equivalent to frontpage, the closest I can think of is Aptana, again also available on windows.

Before installing linux you can get live Cds to try, ubuntu offers this or there is Knoppix.
