how do i fix it? Someone put a firewall because supposedly it makes it so that no one else can tamper with the internet and steal it... so how do i download music? do i have to remove the firewall?

I believe I have to uninstall the software off the old system b4 I can put it on my new computer. But what if I can't boot my computer enough to uninstall it? Please help, I don't want to buy another one. MS doesn't seem to have sc ppl or a phone number to ask a stupid queston.

i want to uninstall norton antivirus 2006 first i tried but the uninstaller said it was in use. so in msconfig i stoped all symantec & norton software from running on windows start up but when i try to uninstall it said that liveupdate or auto live update update was running and when i try to close it in task manager the acces was denied. what do i do to uninstall it

Hey!
Well, my computers being really slow, and the internet is taking forever to get to a site! So I go to close the site window, and it kinda like freezes, so I go CTRL-ALT-Del then the task window comes up and says end now? THen I get a send error? box! THis is a brand new laptop! what the hell?
I have norton, spybot, and adaware! I scan and update them all the time. Why is my computer being this way??
please help!

My parents have been having problems with their PC so they ran in safe mode using the msconfig option, they had no joy in solving the problem so they tried to reinstall Widows XP using the cd. As the PC was in safe mode the instalation did not complete correctly. Is there any way that I can turn off safe mode to allow the reinstalation of WinXP?

i have the file, it was RAR then i extract to the desktop now its a .bin file, i dunno how to run that....this is a setup file of the program...when i exctracted one ..i turns out to 2 files one is .bin and other is .CUE file...so i m not sure how can i make the whole thing to work..

I have a somewhat older computer system (PIII 1GHz, 512MB RAM) that I would like to run Linux on. I've already tried Ubuntu, Kubuntu, Debian stable, and Gentoo 2006.1 on it, but I've ran into miscellaneous problems with each. For example, I had no trouble installing any of them, but Gentoo would crash trying to load X, Debian didn't work with my mouse, Kubuntu was way too bloated and slow, and I don't really like Ubuntu. What distro should I use? I'd like something very responsive and lightweight, but that doesn't use a nasty WM like Fluxbox. Anybody have a good recommendation? What about Slackware? Is it any good?

My grandmother isnt very good at computers, and Im quite sure she pressed something to make webpages open up in a new window each time I visit a page. I would prefer for my webpages to load in the same window. Does anyone know how to change back?
