I need to find a downloadable software that can record audio segments directly onto my computer. any help would be greatly appreciated

windows recorder it's built into most windows machines...look in accessories, entertainment...sound recorder... now you need a microphone...

I use Nero for direct Line In recording. Some music programs require upgrades before they let you use the Line In feature of your soundcard.

I use Super MP3 Recorder Pro. I used it to record my entire cassette tape library onto CD. -yk

An excellent program to do that is called "Audacity". It's free, and works well. It can be read about and downloaded at the below link.

download jetaudio its free(basic) very good for cd creation and audio to mp3 converting too.
