Dont have an original XP disk.(3yr old pc) Tried my newer (1 yr old) XP disk and now get the dumb error message that the product key from the label on the tower is not valid. Of course it's valid - that key came with the PC. Do you know how to get it to work? Do I need an older XP disk? Do I need to pay $200 for XP AGAIN? Now I have a PC that is worthless? What BS this is.

I want to upgrade my PC (desktop) by exchanging the HD and installing a new genuine MS window XP (Professional), everything else will stay the same. The originally installed motherboard comes with a CD. What should I do? should I mount the new HD, then run the motherboard CD to install the motherbaord on the new HD then run the new windows CD, or it is not necessary to run the motherboard CD and all what I need is to mount the HD and then install Windows without running the motherbaord CD?

I have today installed NFS ms wanted Black Edition DVD rip on my PC but it gives an error "The application has falied to start because d3dx9_26.dll was not found. Re-installing the application may fix this problem" . i tried reinstalling but no help. Can anyone plz suggest what should i do????.... This is a pirated edition DVD..

every once and a while it will stop for about 3-4 seconds while i am surfing and it will temporarily, if clicked, display the not working symbol (the blank white box), its getting very annoying lately as i am trying to watch videos etc etc. any help would be appreciated.

Can anyone please tell me how to set Excel to show the Zero at the beginning of a number? I need a certain number of digits in each field but some of the numbers start with zero - I need the zero's to show also as I am doing a V-lookup.

can i compress downloaded movie files (rmv,avi,divx. etc). I want to compress them to a dvd so I csn convert them at a later time. I tried shrink dvd but this only works once they have beeen converted. Any ideas ???

I have one computer with problems in starting the windows. I tried to reboot, reinstall from different MS XP CDs of many friends and failed. I erased and formatted the HD and repeated the process and failed again. The MS XP CDs which have been used were all floating non-genuine copies. Now as I purchased the new sealed genuine MS windows xp, would you think this will solve the problem and will startup the windows? In future if I will experience the same problem so will I need to use this latest CD sololey to reboot this PC?
