shrink movie files?

can i compress downloaded movie files (rmv,avi,divx. etc). I want to compress them to a dvd so I csn convert them at a later time. I tried shrink dvd but this only works once they have beeen converted. Any ideas ???

Is right, DVD shrink will work. I have better solution: Get thou self an external HD and back up to it. Unless you are thinking of playing it on a regular DVD player. I know nothing about how or if that would work

dvdshrink....
not available anymore, only through limewire, bearshare, etc.
