If its a OEM version you can install in as many PC you want else it depends on the number of licence u got. It would be asked when you had purchased your copy of XP.

If microsoft finds the access of internet of produce key with differnet IP then they will ban your licence.

No!

You cannot use the same product key on 2 pc's.

An activation process is there to continue using the software after the trial period. While activating a copy of software, microsoft keep track in their database that this product key has been activated. So further activation is not possible normally.
If you are valid customer you can do it by contacting microsoft for some more times also.

Anyway you can use the same product key in 2 pcs only within the trial period!

I would recommend reading your Licence, it should say what you can do.

For Example: Some versions of Microsoft Office allows you to use up to 3 PC.

Taken From Microsft Office 2003 Student:
1.GRANT OF LICENSE. If you are a Qualified Educational User, Microsoft grants you the following rights provided that you comply with all terms and conditions of this EULA:
1.1Installation and use. You may install a copy of the Software on three personal computers or other devices in your household for non-commercial use by people who reside in your household.

As for not inserting a product key could range you may not install, or have limited use of the Software.
