My broadband is 100MBps but Ive just downloaded limewire and its downloading at 1kbps!!! ridiculous! I've set the settings to allow maximum broadband to download and my firewall doesn't seem to be stopping it, although the firewall is STILL running. What could be the problem and how do i solve it?

I am probably going to have to restore my system to factory settings due to virus and spyware issues. I am having trouble even getting the photos in the computer to burn on a cd. Any suggestions? Is the thing too far gone? It just wont cooperate at all.

My computer has 128 mb rams, PIII550 CPU and 8 gb harddisk space. I used to run Win98 beforehand and i was quite satisfied with my computer speed. Then i installed XP but my computer suffers ffom low speed.However one of my friends has P II in his computer and it is much faster.

I have a compaq presario 5000 with a pentium 4 processor. I had it running with dsl with no protection (stupid I know) and I got lots of damage including spyware, virus's, etc. I took it to the Geek Squad at my local Best Buy. They told me that it needed a new hard drive. I think they said because of all the spyware and infections the harddrive got overworked and damaged. Does that make sense? Is it worth it to replace the harddrive or can I just use my recovery cd and wipe out all the virus and spyware and then just install virus protection/anti-spyware. I know it wont be running to its full capacity if I do that but some of the harddrive will still be working right? I cant really afford to shell out the money for a new system right now. PLEASE ADVISE.

i used dvd decrypter to dump the files into my hard drive and used dvd shrink to encode it but after using shrink i always get an error...

it says.

Error:\nCannot connect TRF.

Our desktop will not boot up. It get's to : "Inspecting your computers hard drive configuration..." then goes black and never comes back. We have had it shut down for a long time now and just gone to using laptop but of course there are pictures on the desktop I desprately want.
Stores have recovery discs (Norton etc.) are these any help and will I be able to get back to the picture files if I use a recovery disc?

yes i was wondering if they sell a program for translating language. i wanted to see if there was one where as im typing im my normal english keyboard it will automoaticly tanslate what im typing to the language i want. i know this is kinda not possible but it might be out there. i wanted to type forign text but i cant. and i got a short keys program and pasted the foreing text but it wouldnt show. so can u help me out there on how to enter forgin text into like yahoo games and such thanks

I'm using a computer that use to belong to another employee where I work. Whenever I open Word (or hit new document) it opens to a page with information (text) already on it?
I have to delete the text on the page to begin working on whatever I need to do. This is very annoying!
Does anyone know how to correct this? I've tried everything I know and even broke down & use the help button to no avail.

Hi i tried to put a fresh copy of windows on my patriot laptop but when i did this when it starts back up it comes up with a black screen and says there are two copies of windows on it and to choose one of them when you click on one of them it comes up with an error and the other one works fine how do i delete the other one which doesnt work or just put a fresh copy of windows on it and not have the black screen come up. thankyou

I've just installed photoshop CS for Mac, I faced a small problem in typing texts, whenever I tried to type in I can't see it but it appeared on the layer area, but actually there is no text in the layer. I reinstall it again but I still have the same problem. can someone help me, I'm using Mac OS X???
