When you reinstall Windows (any version) it creates a new registry, which contains all the settings for all your programs. Settings for already-installed programs are not copied into the new registry, which means that most of them will no longer work. You'll have to reinstall Word.

Reinstalling your OS, no matter what version of Windows you're using, competely wipes everything off your hard drive and installs Windows 'clean' again. And Word doesn't come with Windows, it has to be bought and installed separately. So, yes, reinstalling Windows would get rid of Word.

Yes. MS Word is not part of Windows XP, so it is not installed on our PC when you reinstall Windows. You have to install it separately from its own CD (or the MS Office CD).

Reinstalling wipes out everything except what comes on the Windows disc itself. You'll have to reinstall everything else you had.
