Okay, so I was on msn messenger talking to a friend when she said she had just finished making a photo album and wanted me to see her photos of her as a kid.. well, since I trust this girl with my life, I accepted the file. But then I thought it was a bit strange since it was a zipped folder and bloxked, but I unblocked and unzipped it anyways.. and still, the album wouldn't do anything when I clicked.. a few minutes later she signed in again and I asked if she had sent me a photo album as I was getting suspicious now. She says she thinks it may be a virus and that she got it too. Apparently her screen froze and windows popped up and closed really quickly. Now, I have three files on my computer from the "photo album". I've deleted 2 and emptied the recycle bin, but one won't delete [the one I unzipped and unblocked.] HELP! What should I do? Nothing strange has happened yet, but my parents use this computer too for work and they'll kill me if I got a virus on it.. I'm so scared..

Can anyone educate me on how adware, malware, spams and viruses like the ILOVEYOU virus are spread through the e-mail? Honestly, I want to find ways to tackle them. How come ILOVEYOU can infect the computer just by opening the mail? Please give me some very good links if you know any. Thanks.

i recently had a few viruses on my computer. after getting rid of my old antivirus program, i downloaded a new one from norton. unforntuantely, the large size of the program caused my computer to be incredibly slow after i turned on the computer. for example, my internet browser would take a long time to open, and things like microsoft word documents would take a whopping 15-20 mins to open. after conducting virus scans with norton and not finding anything, i got rid of it, because i thought it was making my computer slow. i then got AVG, and after i did a scan, it found a trojan. thing is, now the scans from AVG i do show no viruses, but still, when i turn on the computer, it takes anywhere from 20 mins to an hour for everything to speed up to normal levels. at these normal levels, my computer is fine. is my computer just loading everything up after i turn it on? or is there still a virus? if so, should i change my antivirus prgram?

Okay I have this blue and white question mark in my lower right corner with all my icons, its taking me to this site http://www.spylocked.com/index.php This thing is called System Alert, its installed in my add and delete programs and will not let me delete it off of there, and it will not tell me why or give me the site information. I can not figure out how to get this off of my computer. I am running AVG right now, but so far has not found it yet....Any other options before throwing it out my window?

how can i rid my computer of this

Here's what the message says:
System alert!
System has detected a number of active spyware applications that may impact the performance of your computer. Click the icon to get rid of unwanted spyware by downloading an up-to-date antispyware solution.

That little message keeps popping up in a small balloon at the bottom right corner of my screen every minute or so. The icon is a little white question mark inside a blue circle, the icon for help and support for windows. I already removed the spyware it's talking about with my antivirus but I'm still getting this balloon. If I try to right click the icon it just brings up a link to a program called spy locked. How can I make it go away??
