Security - June 2006

i cant uninstal the spyware/malware program because i cant find it, i may have deleted it but the screen still says "danger spyware" and i still cant see my wallpaper or right click on it. Also i cannot just reinstal Windows because i do not have the disk(win2000).I can set wallpapers as a background, but i can only see them when my computer is shuting down or turning on. And last but not least, some of my desktop items are doubled i dont know if this has anything to do with the sptware but its annoying and if i delete one of the copys the other one wont open and it wont let me delete the second one.

i didnt change any password in my setting.
the last time i access my yahoo account is on Friday June 9, 2006
but when i try to access my yahoo account on Monday June 12, 2006 - i cant use my old password.
the error said that i key in a wrong password.
i suspect that someone has get in my account and change it.
i cannot request for a new password because i forgot the answer of my secret question.
i've already contact yahoo mail admin, but the answer is computer generated and its getting me nowhere.

I have one stupid popup that is on my desktop toolbar that says the
same damn thing everytime so i know it is a form of spyware/adware
but i can't get rid of it. Help!!!!!!!!

I ran a full virus scan and it detected none. I went to task manager and went to processes and deleted things except the main things like
alg.exe
csrss.exe and etc... but it still is flashing a fake virus alert advertisement for spywarequake. does anyone have any good suggestions?

As i said before, i do enjoy the Yahoo email and page. Am i at risk by using those features now that there is this new worm to worry about? The mag article said you could not be reached for comment on this. Whats going on please?

I have the security center set to "install updates automatically and notify me when the product is updated", but the system still notifies me whenever something is ready for download and installation, prompting me to do it manually. Is there a way I can fix this?

i get an error message saying it has caused and error and needs to close and i kept on saying dont send error report and my anti-virus didnt say anything neither did the windows thingy and so I didnt thinkabout it untill i got fed up of the error message and decided to send and error report and to visit microdoft for details and it said its a virus! I tred every scan available in my anti-virus which is ad-aware btw and it doesnt come up any suggestions?

I have virus protection, but I ran a free McAffee virus scan, and it found 9 viruses. I have to buy it in order to get those viruses removed. How do I remove the 9 viruses it found without buying their product? Is it enough to delete the file? Is there any free virus protection out there?

i have a copy of panda 2005 internet security(oem)which came with my system but i havent installed it yet,so is it still ok to install it,and will i still get the 12 month free services(updates)that came with it
also,when i register,will the updates start from then?
i only asked this question as the disc will be a year old now,but unopened,so i should be able to use it in theory

I've disabled da right click but when i keep da mouse on da pics an icon apears on da top left corner of da pics which says : save/print/email/open my pictures folder, hw can I disable that too ? to prevent ppl from not savin' da images from my web page on their PC ?

My computer crashed, so with the help of friend, I removed everything. Now I am trying to install security/protection software but I am overwhelmed with pop-ups and slow downloads I can not complete any downloads? What should I do? How can I get around these pop-ups long enough to finish what I need to do? Is it possible that a virus is still affecting my computer?

Several times a week I get mail in Bulk Folder where the Sender area is blank & the Subject area is [ none ]. The size varies. The one I have in there now is 755b. I've always just emptied the folder but am curious about the contents. I know,"curiosity killed the cat" that's why I ask if mail in that folder is safe to peek at.

I am using 2 anti-virus softwares-Avast & AVG but I use only Avast for real-time protection & disable AVG.And while scanning my computer with AVG I disable Avast.Is it OK or should I uninstall one of these softwares?If I need to uninstall one of these,which one it should be?
