just got it from a japanese electronic store. i already installed an english version of Windows XP. but it still cannot connect to the internet. it says, "no local connection".. but actually my old desktop had connection. what will i configure? system, modem or the cpu itself?

I have windows me,,my friend installed xp but it made my comp run really slow so i switched back to me.when i did i had to reinstall windows media player 9 but it wont install.it says "it was not possible to complete setup. run setup again " when i do it just repeats over and over again

What is the connection between: being unable to receive or send emails, unable to connect to internet radio,and slow internet connection? In our company, our computers (mac and PC) are connected through an Ethernet (hob) network and to the internet (DSL). For several month it's been awfully slow. At the same time, we're unable to receive or send emails through programs like Apple Mail, Thunderbird or Outlook and also unable to connect to internet radio with iTunes or Real player. We've called our DSL provider but haven't resolved this problem yet. In our building there are several other business and offices. The telephone line from the street that supplies telephone service to different businesses, connect our business and then distributes to the others. All the business have independent telephone accounts. An interesting fact is that this problem occurs mostly during daytime. After 6:00 pm when most of the other business are closed, everything return to normal.

First, my father-in-law is a pack rat. He has one of EVERYTHING. He’s in the process of moving so he called to say that he was bringing a computer over for the kids (3 and 1 years old). Turns out it’s an Apple IIc. I have no idea what to do with it. Do I donate it to a museum, sell it to a antique collector, or do I set it up for the kids to “push buttons” before they learn on a working computer? The computer was given to him for free when it was new and the boxes are still sealed......it’s never been opened. I don’t know what to do with the thing. To make it worse I use Windows and I don’t know the first thing about an Apple. Any thought?

Yesterday I was instant messaging with some people and I initiated photo share that lasted only a few minutes I have few photos. When we were done I x out of photo share and continued to chat about five min later I had to leave and signed out of messenger a window popped up and said even though I signed out files will still be transferring what was that about can some one hack in to my computer throw messenger? I do have a fire wall but now nothing about it my brother is the computer guy I’m a tradesmen

I am trying to play a dvd on my computer, and normally when i put in the disc it just instantly plays. this time it didnt. How do i get it to play? (by the way i do have a computer that plays dvd's.)
do i just click "my computer" or something?

I had to make an emergency appointment to have my phone line fixed, it was all static, my ticket was "escalated" to an appointment 6 days later. Then my t.v. went out. They never showed up. I called and they said that my appointment was for the next day. I know it wasn't. I had to make 3 calls and it was always confirmed for TUESDAY 8-11. I made sure I was at home. Then they "escalated" it again, said they would be out later in the day. I've stayed home all day. I got a call saying they would be here in "10 min." that was 2 hours ago.

DOES ANYONE KNOW WHAT SERVICE I CAN SWITCH TO? I NEED PHONE, CABLE, AND INTERNET.

Everytime I pull up the internet, the font appears very small. So small I can't read it. I adjusted it before, but it was a few years ago so I forgot how. -lol- Please help if you can. Thanks.

256 mb RAM
64mb DirectX9 - combinable with a 3D video card
2.1 gGb space on Local Disc
8x DVD-ROM
DirectX9.0c.

My parametrs are
Windos XP Proffesional
Proccecor: Intel(R) Celeron(R) CPU 2.66 GHz
RAM:502 mb
DirectX Version: DirectX 9.0c.
Video card:Intel (R) 82915G/GV/910GL Express Chipset family

When i launch my game it writes me an error :
Graphics Hardware does't macth minimal requiements

So what should i do??????? =(

I interviewed for a position 2 weeks ago and it went very well. I sent a thank you note and followed up one week from the date of the initial interview by phone. On the phone, it was mentioned to me that I should be asked to come in again for another interview w/a VP or head administrator of the school. Should I continue to wait or would the 3rd follow up seem desperate or pushy? Also, I took a Calpers personality test and was asked to send references as well. Tks.
