OK, on the computer, any icon is a symbol of whats in the computer. Disk drive icons would be the icon you click to access drives A, C, D, E, F, or G (others may be available, but those are the ones on my computer).
The applications file icons refer to the programs that run the user programs, such as Works, Spreadsheet, Money, etc.
Fragmented files: supposedly, according to people who never work with computers (I mean, fixing them and their programs) computers never make mistakes! Files become fragmented because of computer errors; everything is not put back in the proper place. If the files become seriously fragmented, corruption can occur. Even before that, the computer will "slow down"; that is, it takes longer to find things that were not put away correctly. The solution to that is to use defrag (it defragments the files, or puts them back where they belong).
The folders bar is a toolbar that allows you to navigate from folder to folder.

an icon is a graphic that will take you to device
like your recycle bin on the desktop that is an icon
fragmented files are files that probably are no longer working because parts of them are missing
a folders bar should be where you can bring it up and look at folders
