I have a jillion folders that called $NtUninstallKB927779$ and KB921865$, the numbers vary. All I can tell, is that they have something to do with updates. They are in the WINDOWS folder. I want to clear the space, but I don't want to cause problems for my computer.

Okay, I need to either print one of my conversations from Windows Live messenger, but I don't know how to do it. Or, is there a way to download it and save it to a file so I can print it? I really need it printed because I had made an online purchase and chatted with the rep. about products via Live Messenger and now I need to dispute the charge because the items arrived to me defective. My CC company insists on having proof that I actually had this conversation, so I need to figure out how to print it.

Everytime I hit download on anything it opens a new window to download but it closes automatically. I tried to download a microsoft program and no go ...tried to download a yahoo game and no go... My internet explorer looks different too -- there is no "tools" button anymore -- I recently was having ISP problems and could not go online so I was advised to use restore and go back 3 months when my computer had no problems -- this corrected the ISP issue and can now go online without any problems but...cant download a thing?? I dont know how to check firewalls and stuff like that -- so please hold my hand and walk me thru....thanks !!!

As an electronic musician I've amassed a large set of composition files, a set of data that only gets bigger. I don't ever want to lose this data or have a project I've written end up corrupted and unavailable.

Should I use archival (gold) DVDs? What a hassle (with 200GB+ of files, and each DVD only ~5gb, thats 40 tedious burn operations, asumming all of them work perfectly!).

How about a 200 or 300gb hard drive? How long will inert, unused data stay around uncorrupted on a regular consumer hard drive?

I'm expecting that in 10 years or so, I'll move this data somewhere else, so the longevity of the media only needs to be guaranteed up that point.

Thanks!

Have you ever seen some of the answers in the computers and internet section that are so blatantly wrong, yet people still want to answer, when they don't have a clue what they are talking about.

Don't say LimeWire because it gave me a virus on my old computer -- which I had to get rid of.

I have a new laptop, but I need a good place to download music -- for free -- that has better virus protection than LimeWire. I heard that some things might have to do with your connection -- in which I have DSL. Soo, can anyone help me?

My computer is slow to boot up and sometimes doesn't boot at all. It will freeze before the OS even loads. If it does boot up, it will freeze on simple tasks like surfing the internet. I'm running windows XP. I've had this computer for almost two years and this problem came out of nowhere. I think it is a software error.
