to read other people's chats on AIM? [like snooping? :3 ] and that aren't on your computer?

oh my gosh, i know that sounds paranoid!
but i'm just wondering...

If someone is on your computer, they can read your chat. A copy is kept in history. It's also on AOL's servers for a month or more. If youre on a school or work computer, they can see EVERYTHING that goes through the server.
It is possible that a guy might record your chat in word or notepad and can print it out or post it for anyone to see. But it is almost impossible for a third party to view it. AOL does sell your surfing history but it wont generally give up a chat log without a good reason.

by aren't on your computer, do you mean the log created on one's computer when a user logs past chats? If someone logs their chats, you should be able to view what they have said with users by looking in the log files without having to open up AIM.

The only way possible that I know of.. is to have the computer being snooped on have Cybersitting software installed on it like Net Nanny and program the file to send emails to your email address of what's going on.
