Okay, so if I hook my internet modem, a card reader, anything USB (matters not if in front or back of comp) and i play my media player, it plays with static, speeds the song, and skips parts. I have a HP that is relatively old, got it in 2002. But it didn't use to do this. I had more memory installed, and every since, it has been playing music with static. I have to unhook the usb device and restart the computer for the static to stop. I've tried volume controls and all I could think of. If anyone has an idea - I would appreciate it!

I am running Windows XP. Every since about 1 month ago, generally everything that has to do with graphics, video, or fast motions on my computer has slowed. When I play YouTube videos with fast motions or play online multiplayer games such as Gunbound, my computer slows and freezes dramatically. It's not caused by a virus because it happened before and after I reinstalled Windows. I upgraded from 512 mb ram to 1 g, but no luck. Do you think it may be my graphics card? If so, why would the graphics card only start acting funny recently rather than when I first got my computer.

it started after i re-installed window blinds. is there any way i can fix this without having to do a system restore?

oh yes, and on that day, before i rebooted for window blinds installation, i changed the WallpaperDir key in my registry editor, can you give me its default directory (value data)?

I 'VE tryed everything deleting cookies, temp files, cleaning files and defrag. i can be on anywhere and it freezes up i crtl,alt delete and it always says mic internet exployer not responding this is driving me crazy if anyone can help me i will thank you forever!!!!!!

i was trying to figure out how to use my new external HD and some one i deleted the file, that file had imprtent stuff in it.

luckaly i had half a mind to copy and past every thing there in to a seprate folder in my C drive and every thing is safe... i think...i hope.

who thinks i should never be allowed to touch my comp ever again?

I'm trying to restore my computer, but I don't have any recovery disc. I want everything erased, except the programs that came with it when I first bought it. Does anyone know how this can be done?

I have a new video camcorder that can record in 16:9 format. I would love to use this but the problem is, when I download the videos to my computer they are in 4:3 ratio.

You can tell they're supposed to be in 16:9 format because they're stretched vertically. (As if someone grabbed the 16:9 video and squished it side to side, to fit a 16:9 video into the space for a 4:3 video)

I hope I'm explaining well..... I'm not really sure.

Is there a program, or other way, I can use to restore the 16:9 video back to the proper ratio? That is: To stretch a 4:3 horizontally so it is a 16:9.

I wrote something about a year ago in Word, but something happened to the computer so I had to uninstall Word. Now that I reinstalled it a lot of my documents won't open, it keeps saying that I don't have "access privaleges."
I also can't open some of my pictures, it doesn't say anything they just won't come out, like if all the information got deleted.
Please Help!

I just downloaded "NHL 95 full CD" from some abandonware site. I opened it, and it has a whole bunch of files inside (like 'uniforms.cfg' and 'blahblah.ppv').

How do I run this game? I run windows XP. I tried downloading "dosbox" but I went to open it, and a black box popped up and then vanished. So that failed.

Do i have to go to 'start,run,CMD'? What do I type in there to get the game to go?

I have no clue, PLEASE HELP!
