I have a new video camcorder that can record in 16:9 format. I would love to use this but the problem is, when I download the videos to my computer they are in 4:3 ratio.

You can tell they're supposed to be in 16:9 format because they're stretched vertically. (As if someone grabbed the 16:9 video and squished it side to side, to fit a 16:9 video into the space for a 4:3 video)

I hope I'm explaining well..... I'm not really sure.

Is there a program, or other way, I can use to restore the 16:9 video back to the proper ratio? That is: To stretch a 4:3 horizontally so it is a 16:9.

Go buy a newer HD TV. they have the different ratios built in. Plus, you can watch the video in the format it was shot in.

ok so for % to ratio you gotta locate the HCF (maximum hassle-loose element) which for that reason is 5 umm kiddo those backside ones arent ratios theyre fractions so in case you gotta turn seventy 5% right into a fragment shall we destroy it down according to-cent according to skill "out of" cent skill"a hundred" so % skill "out of a hundred" so now have been left with seventy 5 out of a hundred, which written as a fragment is seventy 5/a hundred now we simplify it by employing employing the utmost hassle-loose element that's 25 so we divide seventy 5 and a hundred into 25 and have been left with 3/4 if im no longer puzzled by employing your question then respond to my answer and that i will proceed telling you the thank you to try this
