I would apologize. Tell her you are sorry you used that term and that it was used only out of anger. She should not have come in and made decisions and took action on remodeling your place especially when your bf is now having to pay for it. Heck, it will be time to move by the time you get everything accomplished! I would also tell her that since you have apologized, that you believe you are both owed apologies for her actions as well and that she needs to make a promise to you and her son that she will never again interfere in that way. This way she is getting her apology while at the same time you are able to vent and confornt her with your feelings on the issue. (P.S. You BF also needs to take a stand on this one and stand up to mom)

not true - you aint an idiot - just put this down to experience - mistakes are part of life - try looking in the wastebasket - see if there are there are any deleted files and get them back - copy them to a CD or USB Flash drive etc

Doing a systen restore may help

Good Luck

there is nothing like experience :-), since you had backed everything up in a separate folder, I vote you can still touch the computer.

well its an honest mistake, but if you have copies of your files, and you still dont know if they're safe or not... its a great possibility that you should be banned from PCs.
