I am running Windows XP. Every since about 1 month ago, generally everything that has to do with graphics, video, or fast motions on my computer has slowed. When I play YouTube videos with fast motions or play online multiplayer games such as Gunbound, my computer slows and freezes dramatically. It's not caused by a virus because it happened before and after I reinstalled Windows. I upgraded from 512 mb ram to 1 g, but no luck. Do you think it may be my graphics card? If so, why would the graphics card only start acting funny recently rather than when I first got my computer.

Chekc your task manager "processes" and force anything down that is taking up a lot of CPU, this helps speed up the computer and shuts down unecessary items running. GL

What are you running Pent II, III, IV. Ram dont do much for video. All games, have options, you need to select the lowest bit rate. Your video card will actually run smoother.

Get a game you know has this option, experement with it. See the diffrence. Graphics, run smoother at the lowest setting.

More than likely, you just need to run at a slower rate.

first of all, your computer may be running slow because of programs and shortcuts that are being installed on your computer, some programs such as msn and AIM instant messengers will dramaticly slow down videos, also if your computer is running a browser such as mozilla or aol that will also slow your computer with java programming, most videoss from youtube and google video etc etc run on java components, so try to download i faster version of java, also if you have no luck try deleting and reinstalling programs such as aim, limewire and such, this shouold help, hope this helped you

I think that the graphic card might be acting up. ( its best to buy a new one to prevent further damage. having a new one will also speed up all your games video. )

Or..

You try reformatting the PC again and see what happens. it might be a corruption.

Cheers Best of Luck

Try renewing your computers memory! The less memory space you have, the tendency for your computer to slow down is greater!
