I have a few videos that I downloaded and paid to get the license for; I'm re-loading my computer so I'm putting all my videos etc onto cd, but when I try them on another computer to check they work, an error message comes up that says I don't have the license! So I need to find the license file and back it up with the video file if possible!

Can I RAID enable my computer? I have a MSI K8N -SLI Mobo. I have 2 serial ATA hard drives 160 meg and 250 meg. I had my system for about a year. Can I NOW RAID enable my system? I am looking to set it up in RAID 0 config. What say you computer gurus out there.?

Hi,

I have a laptop and recently it just stopped working. When i turn it on (or
try), the normal thing loads then it says how would you like to start, start
windows normally, safe mode etc. Neither of them work as when you choose one the
xp page starts then it goes black as if there is no power to the screen. This is
immediately followed by a lit screen with the safe mode icons if i tried safe
mode. This is where the problem is. It never gets past this screen. There is the
mouse icon that moves with the mousepad but no matter how long you leave it, it
stays at this stage. This makes it impossible to start the computer to get to
the home page, eliminating any method of solving problems via control panel or
software etc. Please help me, my laptop is essential to my coursework and
without it, i will be stuck.

Yesterday early morning (like today, before I go to work) I checked my emails. Came home and my inbox is empty, except for the few I got when I was gone. Also a seperate inbox folder I had is gone. FOUND them both in the trashbin, date was for about the same time I was on the computer that morning. Clicked "restore" and nothing happened. I may have shut off the power bar (which is easy to get to so I shut the power bar off alot) BEFORE the computer was done shutting down, not sure, I know I have done this accidentally before with no problem, but I try not to. How the heck can I get them back? Why didn't "restore" work?? They're not in my trashbin (recycle bin, sorry) now.

if i upgrade my asdl broadband from 256/54 kbps to what my isp call a faster speed of 1500/256 kbps will i need to upgrade my either of my pc's (one is a mac and the a pc laptop, or can i just maintain what i have. I just dont understand and dont want to upgrade my broadband if it means having to upgrade my hardware, (does this make sense??) its all to confusing. My computer has become really slow.I am not sure how to find and remove them. I do not want to remove anything I shouldn't.
Part of my problem is there are 3 different people using this computer.I use disc clean-up and I also defrage at least once a week.The last time I ran my virus scan there were almost
400,000 files and I am sure there are many that should be removed.Any information to help remove all of the junk would be greatly appreciated.

Several times when I'm viewing a page on the internet, a pop-up will appear like the ones that come up sometimes, only this one says something like, "protect your computer from hacking and viruses, get virus doctor," or something along those lines. A new window pops up in the bottom right corner of the screen, and even if you click the x on the pop-up add, it closes whatever page you were viewing before and expands the little window, showing a webpage to get the "virus doctor" thing. This has happened three times now, all while viewing completely different webpages, and all three times I have lost my work on the page I was viewing before. I've been too frustrated to write down what it says, but has this happened to anyone else? Is it a virus attack, or am I being hacked or something? What can I do to fix it?

I recently purchase a new machine and have come across a couple different issues:
1. When I surf the internet my machine either "locks up" or internet explorer shut down automatically? Is this a MS windows issue?
2. When I leave my machine on, my screen saver kicks in after 10 minutes of no activity. After about 20 minutes the machine locks up and I have to reboot to use my machine? Is this a memory issue? I currently have 2GB of RAM. Below are the specs of my machine:

I messaged a contact on MSN as it shows the person is on, however I got no reply. Then I saw the busy Icon was up next to his name, after a while it changed to "away". The next day I told him I did not mean to disturb him when he was busy but he said he hadn't been on MSN in days and he did not know what I was talking about.

Could this actually happen? You are not on MSN messenger but it shows you are with all the status message like" busy" or "away"?

I can't help thinking he was avoidng me but acted like he wasn't by telling me he was not even on.

What makes a computer fast? i have a compaq and its an ok computer i guess but i would like it to be faster like as in when i click on a program it instantly pops up. Right now if i clicked on, for example, windows media player it takes like 2 minutes to load up to where i can actually play music on it... I know its not a virus or spyware or anything like that because i have a good virus and spyware scanner.
