I have a high speed IP but modem is not wireless or has any Ethernet ports. I need a highspeed wireless router suitable for xbox live. Any recommendations of routers and where to get them will be appriciated.

You can change out the modem/router and keep all your information. If your modem is external (a box provided by your ISP that sits on your desk) then you can use any router on the market. Personally I prefer Belkin over any other brand but that is a matter of opinion. D-Link is another good brand. You can pick one up at any electronics store like BestBuy, Circuit City, Office Depot, etc. They are easy to configure. You may think about getting one that has a wireless connection on it also in case you decide to get a laptop later on.

yes, simple answer. No ISP can tell you what device(computer or router, they are same thing as far as ISP is concerned) you have to use to connect to internet.
